Sign the Watershed Security Pledge
In the last provincial election, candidates across BC committed to championing watershed security by signing our pledge. Now, we’re opening it up to all elected officials, organizations, and individuals who want to take a stand for the health of BC’s watersheds and the communities, ecosystems, and economies they sustain.
Water is life, and BC’s watersheds—our rivers, lakes, wetlands, and aquifers—are vital lifelines that deliver essential services to all British Columbians:
- Healthy watersheds provide clean, safe drinking water and a reliable supply for local businesses.
- They sustain our food supply and act as natural defences against floods, fires, and drought.
- They support vibrant habitats for wild salmon, bears, and the natural gifts that define BC.
Yet over the past 20 years, watershed degradation, combined with more severe droughts, floods, and wildfires, has dramatically increased watershed insecurity, impacting communities, First Nations, local economies, and ecosystems across the province.
